Deepa Natarajan and her husband, Vinoth Sekar, who are just months away from applying for settled status, face an even more challenging situation. "For us, this is not just a policy change; it's a matter of our personal lives and our ability to start a family," Deepa said. "The uncertainties are causing immense emotional strain."

Members of the Skill Migrants Alliance, including Deepa and Kushani, are urging the government to reconsider these changes. They argue that immigration rules should not force families to choose between maintaining their status and pursuing their dreams. James Theje Gunatilake, another affected individual, spoke of the anxiety these proposals have caused, highlighting the sacrifices made by skilled workers to build a lawful life in the UK.
"We are not asking for special treatment. We simply want stability and a fair pathway forward," James emphasized.
